About this project
This project modernized a legacy dairy cooling and wash control into a connected Industrial IoT platform. Farmers, technicians, and haulers needed convenience, remote visibility, and predictive insights—without forcing anyone on-site for every check.
As a Full Stack Software Engineer, I contributed across frontend development, backend services, cloud integrations, API design, deployment pipelines, and production monitoring, helping deliver a reliable and scalable industrial software platform.
I worked with the product and engineering team to turn on-farm research into a secure cloud + edge control experience, live temperature/volume monitoring, digital logging, alerts, remote operations, and an interface built for real dairy workflows.
The goal was not just a prettier screen. It was a reliable system that reduces downtime, replaces paper logs, and gives operators confidence that every tank is monitored anytime, anywhere.
The Problem
- Limited data visibility — critical cooling data lived on paper with almost no digital insight
- Outdated interface — non-intuitive controls slowed operators and raised error risk
- No useful historical storage — teams could not analyze past performance
- Minimal remote access — farmers and technicians had to be physically present to monitor or adjust systems
The Solution
- Built a secure IIoT control platform with cloud analytics and real-time alerts
- Designed a touchscreen-first UI with clearer navigation for farm operators
- Added continuous electronic time & temperature recording with report generation
- Used AWS-backed storage with local retention for resilience
- Enabled remote management of cooling, wash cycles, and system state
- Prepared automation-ready interfaces for modern/robotic dairy setups
